The Parts Alliance updates social distancing posters for “1m plus”

The Parts Alliance has updated the free social distancing posters available to customers.

Following the announcement this week that social distancing will reduce to “1m plus” – meaning a recommended minimum distance of 1m – The Parts Alliance has reacted quickly to update the support material available to garages.

The revised social distancing posters clearly show the 1m distancing requirement and are available to download free from the ‘Support Zone’ of the website.

“We welcome this news from the government,” said Simon Moore, Head of Marketing at The Parts Alliance. “We know customers are being responsible and cautious but this change provides more flexibility, and the potential to operate closer to full capacity again.”

The Parts Alliance say 2 metre social distancing versions remain available too for garages wishing to maintain their current systems to ensure staff and customers are kept as safe as is practically possible.

“We’ve been developing the resources available to garages,” said Simon. “They can also find free marketing material for battery testing and air conditioning servicing to maximise the opportunities presented by warm weather and people returning to use their cars more.”

The Parts Alliance suggests garages regularly check the Support Zone section of their website for the latest resources.

Free Air Conditioning Marketing Material Available from The Parts Alliance

With warm weather set to return across the UK next week, and car air conditioning season in full swing, The Parts Alliance has produced a range of free air con materials to help garages earn.

Car air conditioning systems are not sealed and will tend to lose refrigerant over time. This happens more in the cooler months when systems are used less and seals can dry or shrink. An air conditioning service (or recharge) will restore peak performance, improve efficiency and reduce the risk of component failure.

To help maximise this reliable great summer profit generator, garages can :

  1. Choose from two different poster designs, both ideal for displaying within reception areas – available to download here
  2. Use the selection of four social banners to advertise through social media, such as Facebook – available to download here

All the material will remain available to garages for free within The Parts Alliance’s new ‘Customer Support Zone’ section of its website.

With lockdown restrictions now slowly being eased, it’s widely expected that limitations on foreign travel will mean more Britons choose to holiday in the UK this year. These ‘staycations’ are anticipated to boost the demand for air conditioning servicing.

“With more holidaymakers set to stay in the UK and spend more time travelling in their car, now’s the time for garages to advertise air conditioning servicing,” said Simon Moore, head of marketing at The Parts Alliance. “We hope our range of free marketing material will help them maximise the potential this unique summer offers”

The Parts Alliance supplies a full air conditioning programme for workshops. This includes air con refrigerant gas in both R134a and R1234yf, a wide range of parts (including condensers, compressors receiver driers and more), anti-bacterial cleaning machines and consumables such as oil and UV dye.

For those workshops interested in adding air conditioning to their portfolio of services or upgrading their capability, The Parts Alliance specialist equipment team can advise on different air conditioning machines and payment options.

“The message to our customers is clear, The Parts Alliance has everything garages need to make this air conditioning season a success,” said Simon.

The Parts Alliance to run Petronas oil promotion in June

The Parts Alliance has announced a June promotion on Petronas oil that will see two popular Petronas Syntium grades supplied in limited edition Formula One 200 litre barrels

Workshops can show motorists their commitment to quality, as the eye-catching barrel design celebrates the six consecutive Formula One World Championships won by the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team.

For every special edition barrel purchased, garages will later also receive two free t-shirts, commemorating the team’s 6th F1 World Constructors’ Championship, achieved in 2019.

Petronas Syntium is an official technology partner of the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team.

The oil technologies developed and the experience gained in the world’s premier motor racing category have enabled the development of the premium engine oils UK garages now benefit from too.

The two Syntium oil grades included in the promotion are the 5000 DM 5W-30 and 7000 E 0W-30.

“We already know how highly our garages customers regard Petronas Syntium,” said Simon Moore, head of marketing at The Parts Alliance.

“We have no doubts the barrels and t-shirts will provide a real added incentive so we urge garages to buy early and not miss out.”

Petronas has become an established presence in the United Kingdom. Since arriving in 2008 the brand has enjoyed strong growth.

The Parts Alliance announced in January 2020 a long-term partnership with Petronas Lubricants International as its supplier of premium oil.

The special edition barrels will be available in June from all members but strictly whilst stocks last.

Please contact your local branch of The Parts Alliance to find out more.

Congratulations to the winners of our ‘Colour for Hope’ competition

Congratulations to the winners of our ‘Colour for Hope’ competition

Last month the Parts Alliance and Brembo ran a colouring competition called ‘Colour for Hope’. Children of all ages were encouraged to colour diagrams of Brembo braking parts. We received many wonderful entries, with lots of the children using bright rainbow colours to transform the simple diagrams into vibrant pictures.

After much deliberation, the five winning entries have now been chosen. “We’d like to thank every child who entered the competition, they have clearly worked very hard on their drawings and selecting the winners was difficult,” said Simon Moore, Head of Marketing.

The five winning entries

  • Chloe Hoole (aged 6) – Hoole Auto Solutions Ltd
  • Cotty  (aged 6) – Neville Garage
  • Myla Lewis (aged 9) – Auto Correct
  • Jasmine Irwin (aged 10) – Peter Lewins
  • Jess Friend (aged 13) – TTR Garage Services

“Many congratulations to our five winning entries, who all showed tremendous imagination and creativity”, said Simon.

All the entrants can look forward to receiving a prize from The Parts Alliance in the coming weeks. In addition, the children are now able to view their own pictures and those of all the other entrants in the gallery shown below.

Uni-Select Inc. successfully completes refinancing with new US$565 million credit facilities including covenant relief providing increased flexibility

  • Uni-Select has secured new credit facilities, replacing the current facilities, with leverage and interest coverage ratio requirements effective only from December 31, 2021.
  • The new facilities provide access to additional liquidity and flexibility. The Corporation now has access to approximately US$220 million of liquidity to navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic, if needed.

Boucherville (Québec), May 29, 2020 – Uni-Select Inc. (TSX: UNS) (“Uni-Select” or the “Corporation”) today announced that it has successfully secured new credit facilities providing access to additional liquidity on more flexible financial terms and conditions. The new US$565 million secured credit facilities, which will mature on June 30, 2023, consist of a US$350 million revolving credit facility and US$215 million term facilities. The new credit facilities can be used for general corporate purposes, thereby providing additional liquidity and flexibility, if required.

“These new credit facilities increase our total available liquidity by an additional US$100 million, to approximately US$220 million, and complement the multiple measures implemented by our team over the past few months to weather the impact of the pandemic. Furthermore, the new credit facilities provide a more favorable covenant structure and more latitude to manage our business going forward. We are pleased to have the continued commitment from our existing banking syndicate as well as the support of new financial partners with Export Development Canada and Investissement Québec, on behalf of the government of Québec. With this latest initiative, combined with the measures already put in place, we believe that we are well prepared to face the ongoing economic uncertainty,” said Brent Windom, President and Chief Executive Officer, Uni-Select Inc.

The facilities will be secured by a first ranking lien on all of the Corporation’s assets, which security has also been extended to secure the Corporation’s vendor financing program and its UK revolving credit facility of £6 million.

National Bank Financial and RBC Capital Markets acted as co-lead arrangers, and National Bank Financial acted as sole bookrunner, for the syndication of the credit facilities and National Bank of Canada is acting as administrative agent for the credit facilities. Export Development Canada and Investissement Québec, on behalf of the government of Québec, committed US$75 million and US$25 million to the term facilities, respectively.

Credit Facilities

The new credit facilities consist of a US$350 million revolving credit facility and two term loans totalling US$215 million. The term facilities cater to two different borrowers of the group and carry the same terms and conditions. The US$565 million facilities are subject to a total repayment of 21.2% over the term of the facilities including a repayment of 17.7% on March 31, 2022.

The Corporation will be subject to leverage or interest coverage tests starting on December 31, 2021. The facilities contain a minimum profitability requirement (as described in the facilities) until the quarter ending September 30, 2021 and a minimum liquidity requirement until the quarter ending March 31, 2022.

The new credit facilities also contain various limitations on distributions and on the usages of the proceeds from the disposal of assets. All facilities are repayable without penalty with the remaining balance due at maturity on June 30, 2023.
